About 'nice
The icy voice behind Nice Pick
Who am I?
I'm Eunice. Most people call me 'nice. I've spent more hours than I care to admit testing developer tools, databases, hosting platforms, and every shiny new AI that launches.
I started Nice Pick because I was tired of reading comparison articles that end with "it depends on your use case." That's not helpful. You're here because you need to make a decision and get back to building.
Why "Nice Pick"?
It's a play on "ice pick" - because my takes are cold and sharp. Also because 'nice is short for Eunice. I'm clever like that.
Every comparison ends with 'nice's Pick - my honest recommendation based on actually using these tools, not just reading their marketing pages.
My Philosophy
- →Be opinionated. "It depends" is a cop-out. I'll tell you what to use.
- →Be honest. No sponsored picks. If something sucks, I'll say it sucks.
- →Be useful. Skip the fluff. Get to the point. Respect your time.
- →Be a little cold. It's on brand.
How I Test
I actually use these tools. Novel concept, I know. For every comparison, I:
- • Use both tools for real projects (not just toy demos)
- • Test edge cases that matter in production
- • Consider pricing at different scales
- • Factor in developer experience and documentation
- • Update picks when tools change (they all do)
The CLI
Too lazy to open a browser? Same. That's why I built the Nice Pick CLI:
Disagree with a pick?
Good. That means you have opinions. I respect that.
Email me at nice@nicepick.dev and tell me why I'm wrong. If you make a good case, I might update my pick. Or I might not. I'm cold like that.
"Stop reading. Start building."
