AICC

AICC (Aviation Industry Computer-Based Training Committee) is a technical standard and platform for computer-based training (CBT) and e-learning systems, originally developed for the aviation industry. It defines specifications for interoperability between learning content and learning management systems (LMS), enabling the delivery, tracking, and management of online courses. While historically significant, it has largely been superseded by more modern standards like SCORM and xAPI.

🧊Why learn AICC?

Developers should learn about AICC primarily for maintaining or migrating legacy e-learning systems in aviation or other industries that adopted it early. It's relevant when working with older training platforms that require content interoperability, though modern development typically focuses on SCORM or xAPI for new projects. Understanding AICC helps in transitioning systems to current standards while preserving existing data.
